Here’s the video for the Wissota midwest modified feature race at the Jamestown Speedway on 5-25-11. The ’09 National Champ #71 Dustin Strand wins, followed by 1s Scott Bintz and #2 Josh Eberhardt. Both Bintz and Strand drive the Millenium Chassis built by Brian & Dustin Strand.

2011 Scott Bintz Racing Midwest Modified Summary 5-28-11

After 2 rain outs the Jamestown Speedway was finally able to get in their opener on 5-28-11.
The down and dirty:Â Won the heat and from 7th to 2nd in the feature.
Strand To The Front
The long version: 30 Wissota midwest modifieds showed up to race at the Jamestown Speedway. Chase continued his excellent streak for drawing by getting scotty outside pole of the 4th heat. The Dakota engine powered Millenium Chassis 1s machine got the earlier lead and held on for several laps. There was a caution. On the restart, #2 Josh Eberhardt begin to challenge the 1s machine for the lead. At the end, Scott was able to pull away to pickup our 6th heat win of the season.  On the re-draw, we were put in the 7th starting position. After the first lap, #71 Dustin Strand, the 2009 Wissota national champion, who started in the 5th position took the lead and Scotty moved into 4th. On the re-start, Strand again captured the lead in his Millenium Chassis and Scott moved into 2nd with #2 Josh “The Jackrabbit” Eberhardt hot on his tail. The track was try on the top with some traction on the bottom. The 2 Millenium Chassis race cars pulled away from the field pretty good until the next caution. Eberhardt would give Scott some good racing after each re-start, but Scott will able to secure 2nd. After the last caution, Scott begin to close the gap on Strand almost on his rear bumper right before the white flag. Scotty over shot his marks a bit on corner 3 & 4, right before the white flag dropped and Strand drove into victory lane with the 1s machine in 2nd, picking up our fourth 2nd place finish of the season, and Eberhardt finished 3rd. It was a great night for the Millenium Chassis taking 1st and 2nd.  Plus, a second place to Strand is almost like a win

Our last race of the season was the 38th Annual Stock Car Stampede at the Jamestown Speedway on Sept 25th & 26th, 2009. 55 Wissota Midwest Modifieds were on hand to race. Scott drew 48 out of 100 for starting positions which put him starting 4th in the 6th heat. We had to get top 2 to make it in the main feature on Saturday. The heat was tacky and pretty fast. Scott got a good start and passed Dustin Strand for the lead coming out of corner 4. Then there was a caution with 9 laps to go. Scott got a great restart and kept the lead for the 10 lap heat win. The 6 heat winners had a draw for the starting line up at the Stock Car Stampede and Scott drew starting position # 5. On Saturday, the feature was very dry but still pretty fast. Scott worked his way up to 3rd after about 5 or 6 laps and spent the rest of the race trying to reel in Travis Saurer and Steve Ost. Scott got right up to Ost’s bumper but then slide off the track a bit but was able to recover pretty fast and end of the feature in 3rd. Travis Saurer won followed by Steve Ost. Below are some pictures from the Stampede. Continue reading »

On 9-15-09 we headed to the Wissota 100 at the Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron, SD. On Tuesday night we were able to get some practice laps in and Scott got the 3rd fastest lap times, which was pretty cool.
On Wednesday 9-16-09 over 80 Wissota Midwest Modifieds were in 8 heat races on the first day. The format was you had to get top 3 in the heat to make the first round of the qualifying feature. 24 race cars would be in the first qualifying feature. The top 12 in the qualifying feature would make up the first 4 rows of the 30 car, 3 wide start main event on Saturday night.   Continue reading »

9/6/09 Close to 40 Wissota Midwest Modified race cars showed up for the 2nd night of the Jamestown Speedways Double Header Labor Day Weekend Races. Scott was in the 3rd heat and it was somewhat of a rough caution filled heat. Scott made it to 4th from 7th to qualify for the feature in the 14th starting spot. The feature was dry but racey. Scott was moving up pretty good and got to about 5th when he hit the inside wall on corner 2 and spun. Got sent tail end and Scott made it back to 11th. Ryan Mikkelson won the feature followed by Josh Eberhardt and Landon Becker. 2009 Scott Bintz Racing Midwest Modified Summary

Over 40 Wissota Midwest Modified race cars showed up for the first night of the Jamestown Speedways Double Header Labor Day Weekend Races. Thanks for some major fixes by Mitch and the crew at Specialty Fabricating J-Car and final touches by Spencer Johnson and the head grinder Shawn Herrick, we were ready to race. I drew 12 and was on pole of the 6th heat. The track was dry with some tack in it. On the start, I got the lead and we had 2 cautions in before we finally made a lap. On the last re-start, I took the lead and kept it with Ryan Mikkelson hot on my tail. I was super happy for the heat win at such a big show. Hard to believe its the 15th heat win this year.

For the feature, I drew 4. This put me in row two on the outside. Next to Dustin Strand of course. We were the last feature of the night so the track was super dry with not to much of a cushion on the top. We got going and I was able to move into 3rd and then after a re-start into 2nd. Strand had the lead. Seemed like i was gaining on him in corner 1 and 2 and loosing him in corner 3 and 4. I had been running low most of the race. After another caution, I picked low and Flyin Ryan Mikkelson was high beside me. Strand got a good start and Mikkelson and I were battling pretty hard for 2nd. We had one last caution. Continue reading »
2009 Scott Bintz Racing Midwest Modified Summary

On Wednesday August 26th, we headed to the Sheyenne River Speedway for their county fair special with both Wissota Midwest Modified and Wissota A-Mods. Scott started 3rd row inside in the heat and moved up about a car per lap. He almost got the heat win but drove it in a little low on the last lap. Then there was a last corner caution thrown.  For the feature, Scott got jammed up a bit and dropped back a few spots on the start. He started moving up and got into 2nd. He wasn’t ever able to reel in the leader too much. Scott got close a few times but not enough to make a good run for the lead. He did get a few chances to try for the lead on the re-starts, but the leader was pretty smooth towards the end of the race. Scott Finished 2nd. Randy Klein was the feature winner. 2009 Scott Bintz Racing Midwest Modified Summary

32 Wissota Midwest Modifieds came to race the Jamestown Speedway on August 22nd. Scott drew the pole position of the 1st of 4 heats. He got the earlier lead and held it for the entire heat race for the win. There was a caution after the first lap but it was smooth driving after that. In the feature, Scott started in the in the 7th position (4th row inside). On the start, Scott dropped back a few spots and then there was a caution. On the restart, Scott was in 9th. The race went 19 more laps caution free and Scott moved up to 4th around lap 15 which is where he finished. Taylor Weight won by a few inches over Dustin Strand followed by Ryan Mikkelson and Scott Bintz.
