2md Josh Skorczewski Passes 1s for the Win

Since Jamestown Speedway’s Test and Tune was cancelled out from the rain, the crew (Joey, Chase, Shawn and Scott) quickly changed the gears and heading out to the Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron, SD to race their opening night.

The Dakota Engine Builder powered 1s started 5th in the 3rd heat.  The track was tacky and fast.   Scott was able to slowly move up the pack and get into the 2ndspot with 2 laps to go.  The leader had checked out and there just wasn’t enough laps to reel him in. 

26 Midwest Modifieds started the feature.  The 2nd place heat finish put Scott Bintz starting in the 6thspot.  When the green flag dropped, Scott didn’t get the best start but quickly got into the groove, picking off a car every few laps.  He was able to do some passing in boththe high or low groove.   With 4 laps to go, Scott made the pass for the lead and bring pulling away from the pack.   On the finally lap, #2MD Josh Skorczewski reeled back in the Truxedo sponsored 1s machine and it was a drag race down the back stretch.  Coming out of 4, Josh passed Scott for the win.  Congrats to Josh for his 1st win of the season.  It was a fun trip and we did bring a 2nd trophy back from South Dakota.  It has found a home up in Minot, ND.  Casey Scott of Minot was all smiles when Scott gave him his new trophy.

Dodge County 4-18-10

We teamed up with Rusty and Kollman Motorsports for 3 days of racing in Minnesota. We loaded both cars into his hauler and headed out.  On Friday, 4-16-2010 we barely made it in time for the draw cut off at Chateau Raceway. Its a track shaped like a paper clip so it has tight corners and faster straights.  The heat was tacky and the features a smooth dry slick.  Very nice racing conditions.   Scott Bintz got 3rd in the heat and 7th in the feature.  We missed the set up for the car and it was just too loose in the feature.  Brandon Davis picked up the feature win in the Wissota Midwest Modifieds.

On 4-17-2010 we headed to Deer Creek Speedway.  This is a beautiful track with box seating and the works.  The heats were tacky and the features a smooth dry slick.  Once again the perfect track conditions.  Scott was in the 1st heat and started 5th and finished 2nd.  It was a good run.  For the feature he was in the 5th starting spot.  At the beginning of the race Scott dropped back several spots and spent the rest of the race playing catchup and finished 6th.  Once again, we missed the ideal set up and the car was a little loose.  It was some great side by side 3 and 4 wide racing action.  Bryan Hernandez won followed by Brandon Davis.  That’s 2 nights in a row we put the race car back on the trailer in great condition.

On 4-18-2010 we went to Dodge County Speedway.  This is a smaller track with higher banking.   It was tacky in the heats and Scott picked up his first heat win of the season.  The feature was dry on the bottom and middle with a little tack on the top.  Scott started 7th and was hooked up pretty good.  On about lap ten (pictured above), Scott was battling for the lead with Shaun Walski and Brandon Davis.  On the last corner of the last lap, Scott was in 3rd and looped it.  Ultimately finishing 9th.  Shaun Walski went on the get the feature win followed by Davis.  We put the car on the trailer again in great condition!!  We are still fine tuning the car, but it is starting to work really well.  Special thanks to Strand Racing and the Millenium Nightmare Chassis.

Whoa Dude Wissota Racing is on………

The first night in the new millenium midwest modified was at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN.  Some fun was had.  Scott started on pole of the 2nd heat.  Got a good start but pushed up the track in 1 and was at the back of the pack in no time.  He got a little bit in to the groove and moved back up.  Coming out of corner 2 high, he got drilled pretty hard in the front left but still made it back to 4th.  Started 14th in the feature and was moving up and dropped back throughout the race until about the last 5 laps when the “drive better switch” was turned on.  Finished 10th and put the car back on the trailer in good condition less a few dings from other drivers.   View complete racing results.

Midwest Modified Driver Side

Here’s some pictures of the 2010 Millenium Nightmare Chassis built by Strand Racing.  The Dakota Engine Builders powered Millenium Nightmare Chassis has all the latest and great racing technology.  It is the same chassis that was driven by Dustin Strand, who captured the 2009 Wissota National Championship for the Midwest Modified class.   Scott is really jacked and looking forward to driving this new hot rod.  This is the first Millenium built by Brian and Dustin Strand for the 2010 season.  For more information on the Millenium Chassis visit www.strandracing.com.

Scott’s first race in this race car will be at a Wissota sanctioned race track sometime in April.  The car should be decaled and ready for some dirt in the next couple of weeks.  Stay tuned for more pictures after the car is decaled.
